Evenflo Titan 65 Tether Strap Recall
Evenflo has issued a voluntary recall of specific SureRide/Titan 65 convertible car seats distributed in the United States due to a small number of units being shipped without the top tether strap. The tether strap is used in forward-facing installations to enhance protection.
The issue was identified following customer reports. No injuries have been reported.
What Product Is Affected?
The recall applies to certain Evenflo SureRide/Titan 65 convertible car seats:
Model Numbers (U.S.):
3711198
3712198
CS200312198
CS200311198
Date of Manufacture: March 1, 2025 – December 11, 2025
Parents and caregivers should verify both the model number and the date of manufacture to determine whether their seat is included.
How to Check Your Car Seat
Look at the back of your car seat for the top tether strap (a strap with a hook and red adjuster).
If the tether strap is present: No action is needed. Your seat may continue to be used as directed.
If the tether strap is missing: You will need to request a free replacement tether kit from Evenflo.
Is My Car Seat Safe to Use?
Safety depends on whether the tether strap is present and how the seat is currently being used.
If the tether strap IS present
No action is required.
The car seat is safe for continued use as directed.
If the tether strap is NOT present
A free replacement tether kit will be provided.

While Waiting for the Replacement
If your child is currently rear-facing: The seat may continue to be used safely in rear-facing mode as directed.
The tether must be installed before switching to forward-facing mode.
If your child weighs less than 40 pounds and is under 43 inches tall, you may switch back to rear-facing installation until the tether is received.
If your child exceeds rear-facing height and weight limits and the tether is missing, Evenflo strongly recommends using an alternative car seat until the replacement tether arrives.
While Evenflo states that their car seats meet federal crash-test requirements with or without a tether, the company strongly recommends using the tether in forward-facing mode to improve protection.
What Families Should Do Now
Immediately check the back of your Evenflo SureRide/Titan 65 car seat for the tether strap.
Confirm your model number and date of manufacture.
Contact Evenflo promptly if the tether is missing.
Do not use the seat forward-facing without the tether installed.
Continue using the seat rear-facing, if applicable and within limits, while waiting for the replacement kit.
