WHAT IS POSTPARTUM PREECLAMPSIA? Postpartum preeclampsia is a serious childbirth-related condition that can lead to stroke, seizures, and death if left untreated. Birthing persons who had no previous signs of high blood pressure or preeclampsia can develop postpartum preeclampsia. Postpartum preeclampsia develops within the first 48 hours up to 6 weeks after birth. Postpartum preeclampsia is treatable. Do not wait if you notice any symptoms. Contact your provider immediately
