BLACK MATERNAL HEALTH CIRCLES (BMHC)

Key learnings from 12 months of community engagement

The Black Wellness & Prosperity Center (BWPC) in partnership with a local health plan hosted monthly Black Maternal Health Circles (BMHC) over the course of one year. BMHC was co-designed with Black women in Kern and San Bernardino Counties. The Circles were intended to provide a safe space for women to share pregnancy experiences and to advise the health plan partner and other healthcare stakeholders in developing equitable solutions to shared obstacles.
